The Consulate General of France in Bombay celebrated the French National Day with the Guest of Honour Mr. Amitabh BACHCHAN, superstar of the Indian film industry and Mr. J. P. DANGE, Chief Secretary of Maharashtra. Both of them spoke of their admiration for France in their speeches.

The year 2010 is dedicated to intense cultural exchanges between the 2 countries. Currently, France is hosting Indian artists within the framework of the year-long cultural programme “Namaste France”. It is organised in response to the French cultural festival “Bonjour India” that took place at the beginning of this year.

14th July was also the occasion to award two influential Indian filmmakers, Mr. Ketan Mehta and Mr. Sudhir Mishra, with the insignia of “l’Ordre des Arts et Lettres”.
